What StromTek Inc. is

I am Luke Hammerstrom, and I build and run the software small businesses depend on — the website, the search visibility, and the payment and data systems behind both. StromTek Inc. is registered in Ontario and based in Toronto.

It is not a reseller of page builders and not a marketing agency that subcontracts the engineering. There is no account manager between you and the work, because there is nobody to put there. That means you get continuity: the person who understood your business in the first conversation is the person maintaining it three years later.

It also means I say no to work I cannot do well, and I tell you when something you are asking for is a bad idea. A one-person firm cannot afford the alternative — I have to live with everything I ship.

StromTek Inc. ships its own products too. RailTax Canada is built and operated in-house, which means I am not only a contractor with opinions about running software — I run some.

How the work runs

Four habits, applied to every project including my own.

You see it before you buy it

I build a real, working version first and send you a private link. If it is not right, you owe nothing. I take on a small number of these at a time, so there is sometimes a wait.

Engineered, not assembled

Static builds, no page-builder bloat, no forty-plugin stack. Every deploy is gated by an automated audit that fails on a broken link, a missing canonical, a duplicate title or an image without alt text.

You own the outcome

The code is yours outright at launch — no licence, no per-seat fee, no platform that can raise its price. If you ever leave, you leave with everything.

Launch is the start

Hosting, monitoring, nightly backups, patching and a documented recovery plan. Care is part of how StromTek Inc. builds and runs a site, not an upsell at the end.

Where your site actually lives

Most web shops hand you a hosting subscription and hope you never ask what is underneath. Your site goes on the platform that suits it, and every account is opened in your name rather than mine.

  • Cloudflare for the domain, DNS and uptime monitoring — registered to you, so the thing your business is named after is never held by your developer.
  • Cloudflare Pages or DigitalOcean for the hosting, depending on whether the site is static or needs a server behind it.
  • Supabase where there is a database and Stripe where there are payments — both industry standard, both with an export you can walk away with.
  • Already have a host, a registrar, or a provider your accountant prefers? It goes there instead. None of this is a package I am selling you a seat on.
  • Backups, certificate renewal, patching and an outside uptime check get set up whoever the provider is, and the recovery steps are written down rather than kept in my head.

Your site runs on infrastructure you own, under accounts you control — which is what makes leaving possible, and is precisely why it is set up that way.

Toronto, working across Canada

I am based in Toronto and work remotely with clients anywhere in the country. That is not an aspiration — Scheelar Energy is a live client in the Edmonton area, built from Toronto start to finish. There is no office to visit and no street address to publish, which is why you will not find one here.
